Rythemz's lyrical content is always meaningful, positive and inspirational. Bringing a fresh burst of inspirational vibes to the scene, whilst addressing everyday issues which most of us can relate to. She has worked with the likes of Ty, Jonzi D, Oneness and Polar Bear Poet. With Rythemz there are no boundaries! Not afraid to use her Spoken Word techniques to break into and manipulate other genres other than Hip Hop, varying from Soul/R'nB to Reggae flavors. She has performed all over London and parts of the UK. She is part of collectives such as Let's Be Positive and Krave Productions. Using her lyrical ability Rythemz has also written scripts and monologues, and worked with some of the UK's diverse and creative directors such as Amani Naphtali, and Leo Kay (Madrugada theatre company) and performed live on the main stage at Tottenham Carnival 2009.
MY SKILLS
I would describe my skill as a poetess/ Spoken Word artist with a comical, down-to-earth, modern, urban, intellectual twist! I am able to integrate my poetic flow into musical forms and dramatic performances. I talk about LIFE in general and topics which a lot of people can relate to. My piece focuses on positive movements and motives, and addresses some important issues that occur in and around London’s local communities.
WHY IS MY TALENT WORTH SHOUTING ABOUT?
I am a young, “black”, female, born and bred in London. Writing is my way out of the monotomus drone of every day life! Besides this I am currently studying Events Management at University, working part-time and in a semi-professional, in-house theatre company in North London. I am trying my best to better myself in life and I am fed up of negative portrayals of the youth in London. There is a lot of positive talent out there and this is what I want to promote and see more of.
WHAT DO I HOPE TO ACHIEVE?
I am hoping to be heard. I aim to reach as much people first in London as possible. Then the UK, then the WORLD! I want to be able to use my talents to bring communities together and break down barriers though inspirational and creative performances and projects. I would like to be able to meet like-minded people whatever their talent/skill and find ways to work together to reach our common goal. ACHIEVEMENT, RESPECT, and PEACE.
