We decided to undertake a 'true to life' task, which was a basic example of what a media production team may be asked to do. They were given a brief which featured a small gym and were challenged to create a short advert which would entice customers to become a member of the gym.
Many ideas were brainstormed and the young people came up with some very creative filming ideas. We were lucky enough to have a good contact at a small gym based in London Bridge – on the condition that the company logo would not be used in the final piece. They were kind enough to give our students access to their facilities in order to create their promotional video.
Using their newly acquired skills they used a variety of shot types, camera angles and video editing effects to create an excellent final piece.
