Since 1863 Hoxton Hall has epitomised the spirit of Shoreditch as a visible artistic and creative presence in the community: entertaining, supporting and educating local people.
Today we work with those who are starting out. We excite talent; encourage risk-taking; supporting and advising those who wish to explore their creativity and potential.
Our unique Victorian music hall theatre inspires young people and young arts companies to experiment and create work which breaks personal and artistic boundaries.
We are Hackney’s only youth arts centre, working with approximately 200 young people each year, aged 7-25 years. We run a busy after school arts programme of workshops including live instrumental music, singing, graffiti, street dance, drama and visual art. We also run holiday projects throughout the year in anything from hip-hop theatre to arts & crafts workshops. We have a grass roots approach to youth work, nurturing and responding to the needs of the young people we serve. We train a handful of young people each year to become peer educators, who work with us closely in the planning and delivery of our projects.
