WHAT SERVICES DOES YOUR ORGANISATION PROVIDE?
HCVS offers free advice, training and information to people who want to start or who are already involved in voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups in Hackney. We are an accreditted training centre and can offer free NVQs in Management and Team Leading. You can use our computers for free in our walk-in resource area, this includes using Funder Finder, an online database of funding. Our Grants team manage three grants programmes which provide funding for local community projects. We offer a free email service with details of services run by community groups, including weekly emails on activities for children and young people, job and volunteering vacancies and funding.  We are also working on a directory of VCS groups offering activities to children and young people.

Finally, if you are interested in getting involved in how decisions are made about services in Hackney, HCVS is also home to the Community Empowerment Network or CEN. The CEN is a group of representatives from Hackney’s VCS, who sit on various boards of Team Hackney. Our representatives are also part of a number of VCS networks which are also part of the CEN, such as the Children & Young People’s Providers Forum, Health & Social Care Forum and the Economic Development Partnership Network.
